Cosmetic Outer Packaging Guide: Cartons, Sets & Mailers
Choose an outer carton, presentation box, or ear-lock mailer around a finished cosmetic product. Covers 250-unit MOQ, scope, and quote inputs.

Representative packaging concept or capability reference, not completed customer work.
Cosmetic outer packaging is the printed box around a finished beauty product. Use a tuck carton for one retail jar, bottle, tube, or lipstick product; a magnetic box for a premium product or set; and a corrugated ear-lock mailer for a branded PR or ecommerce presentation. Final structure starts with product dimensions, arrangement, quantity, artwork, and destination.
Start with the finished item
Measure the jar, bottle, tube, compact, or lipstick product before choosing the outer-carton dimensions.
Map the complete arrangement
Confirm every product position, orientation, weight, and insert need before selecting a presentation box.
Supply approved panel content
The buyer supplies and approves claims, ingredients, warnings, and market-specific copy for the final dieline.

The structure page remains the source for available materials, construction, print, finishes, and the project brief. An industry page explains where that structure may fit; it does not create a different product specification.
What is outside the current offer
UPG does not supply cosmetic bottles, jars, tubes, lipstick mechanisms, applicators, formulas, product filling, overwrapping, bundling, repacking, campaign fulfillment, or regulatory approval. Do not add those services to a quote brief unless a written UPG offer specifically confirms them.
The six inputs for a useful beauty-packaging brief
- The finished product or complete set arrangement
- Exact product dimensions, weight, and orientation
- Required quantity, starting from the 250-unit planning MOQ
- Intended use: retail, gifting, PR presentation, or ecommerce
- Artwork status plus buyer-approved panel content
- Delivery country, region, and target timing
Plan the panel layout before design lock
An outer carton is more than a front-facing graphic. Opening direction, usable panels, structural lines, product identity, quantity statements, ingredients, warnings, and other buyer-supplied content can affect the layout. Final artwork belongs on the approved project dieline—not on a generic template found online.
For products marketed in the United States, the FDA Cosmetics Labeling Guide is a primary planning reference for required cosmetic label information. The brand remains responsible for its claims, classification, legal review, and approved copy; UPG does not provide regulatory approval.
Use the planning MOQ correctly
Every current UPG custom product family uses a 250-unit planning MOQ. It applies to one reviewed project specification, not an assumed mix of unrelated sizes, structures, or artworks. Final price, production timing, and delivery terms are confirmed only after the complete project is reviewed.
